CLOUDING OVER
A SOLO EXHIBITION BY JEREMY WAFER
18 APRIL
14h00
Villa-Legodi Centre for Sculpture
South African artist, Jeremy Wafer, has been in residency at NIROX since early March, producing a new body of work at the Villa-Legodi Centre for Sculpture. This residency and body of work serve as a continuation of his decades-long investigation surrounding the topics of dislocation, memory and materiality. As well as a continuation of the works Wafer began generating during his previous residency at NIROX, in 2023.
“Working across sculpture, photography, video and drawing, my practice over the past four decades has explored the politics and poetics of place, engaging with land, territory, and histories of location, dislocation, and dispossession within South Africa’s social and political landscape."
A CONCERT FOR WATER
19 APRIL
NIROX Sculpture Park
Concluding the Soil & Water multimedia arts project examining the delicate balance of interconnected ecologies through the creativity of artists from across the globe, A Concert for Water reflects on the urgencies and shared entanglements which connect, sustain and exult us through water - essential for life on earth and a source of transcendental beauty.
A Concert For Water is a call to awaken and inspire collective goodwill in service of a better future.
